The Art of Landon Peters

Bio

Landon Peters was born in Saskatoon and though he has lived for a time in Vancouver, in Seattle and in Los Angeles he is presently teaching drama in Yellowknife. While in Vancouver, Landon studied at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design; in Seattle, he attended Shoreline College; in Los Angeles, he obtained a degree in theater arts; his degree in education was earned in Saskatchewan. He has appeared in various film and television projects and, in Yellowknife, he produced the musicals "Saturday Night Fever", "Alice Rocks in Wonderland", and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". Landon also produced "Silly Shakespeare", humorous renditions of MacBeth and Hamlet for the Children's Theatre Festival at Ecole Sir John Franklin High School.

Landon has always had a strong interest in the visual arts, experimenting with various media early in high school and college. In the summer of 2000 he began a conscious effort to focus on and explore subject matter pertaining to rural Saskatchewan and more recently has been challenged by northern imagery in Yellowknife. With his time split between teaching, theatre productions, and other school-related activities, his painting time is limited, but his goal is to begin painting full time within the next five years so that he can create a strong body of work that others can identify with and enjoy.
